This policy explains how **Strafe Theory Software LLC** ("we", "us") handles personal information when you visit [strafetheorysoftware.com](https://strafetheorysoftware.com/) (the "Site") or contact us. Our games have their own privacy policies, for example [Capture The King](https://strafetheorysoftware.com/capture-the-king/privacy/).

## Summary

- The Site has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies.
- Fonts and scripts are served from our own server, so visiting the Site sends nothing to Google or other third parties. The one exception is the Evergreen report on our blog, which loads open-source libraries from unpkg.com, and that service sees your IP address.
- We only get your name or email if you email us, send the contact form or book a call.
- We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never will.

## 1. Information we collect

- **What you send us.** If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and anything you include, such as your company, project type, budget range, timeline and project details. The contact form is delivered to us by Formspree. If you book a call, Calendly collects your name, email, the time you choose and any answers you give, and shares them with us.
- **Server logs.** Our hosting provider automatically records standard request data: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. It keeps this data for a short period to run and secure the Site.
- **On your device only.** The Site stores one preference in your browser's local storage: your light/dark theme. It never leaves your device, and you can clear it in your browser settings.

## 2. How we use it

- To reply to your messages and quote for projects.
- To send you updates you asked for. Every such email lets you unsubscribe.
- To keep the Site secure and working.
- To meet legal obligations.

For visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases: **consent** for any updates you sign up for (you can withdraw it at any time), **steps before a contract** when you ask for a quote, and **legitimate interests** for answering general enquiries and securing the Site.

## 3. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We do not "share" it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as the CCPA/CPRA defines that term. The only parties that handle it for us are our hosting and email providers, Formspree (contact form delivery) and Calendly (call booking), who process it on our behalf under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights. If a merger or acquisition takes place, information may be transferred under this policy.

## 4. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

## 5. Retention

We keep emails for as long as we need them to deal with your request or our business relationship, and then delete them. We keep addresses for updates until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a short period set by our hosting provider.

## 6. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop emailing you. Depending on where you live, the law may also give you these rights:

- **EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR):** access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, and complaint to your local data protection authority.
- **California (CCPA/CPRA) and other US states with privacy laws** (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and Oregon): to know what we collect, to access, delete and correct it, to opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising (we do none of these), and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision.
- **Other countries** (for example Canada, Brazil, Australia and India): the rights your local law gives you.

To make a request, email [hello@strafetheorysoftware.com](mailto:hello@strafetheorysoftware.com?subject=Privacy%20request). We may need to confirm your identity first. We reply within the time your law sets, usually 30 to 45 days. An authorised agent can make a request on your behalf.

## 7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We don't track you across sites and we don't sell or share personal information, so browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals need no further action from us. We treat a GPC signal as a valid opt-out request.

## 8. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the EU/UK, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

## 9. Security

The Site is served only over HTTPS with modern security headers. Apart from the exception noted in the summary, it loads no third-party code. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.

## 10. Changes

If we update this policy, we will change the effective date above. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on the Site.
